🇨🇿 Born local · ✈️ Expat who never left · ❤️ Always honest
We're Kaja & Ciaran — a couple living in Prague. One of us grew up here, one of us arrived as a tourist and never left. Between us, we've got every angle of this city covered. Think of us as the friends you wish you had before your trip.
Prague is genuinely easy — once someone who actually lives here gives you the honest version first.
Prague is compact, walkable, and brilliantly connected by public transport. The beer is world-class and cheaper than water in most European capitals — yes, really. The food scene has quietly become one of the best in Central Europe. And the architecture will stop you in your tracks. The tourist traps are real — but easy to avoid when you know where to look. That's exactly what we're here for.
Peak heat and peak crowds. Stick to the riverbanks (Náplavka) at night and start your sightseeing before 8 AM.
Travelling light or on a budget? You have two great options. The standard trolleybus 59 connects directly to Metro Line A — a 90-minute transit ticket costs 46 CZK if bought inside the digital PID Lítačka app, or 50 CZK for a physical paper terminal ticket. Alternatively, the direct AE (Airport Express) bus runs straight to the Main Railway Station for a separate direct fare of 200 CZK (about €8). Both get you into the city center in around 45 minutes.
Prefer not to figure anything out after your flight? Book a private transfer — your driver's waiting, your name's on a sign, and your hotel is the next stop.
We recommend Prague Airport Transfers — a local company that just ticks every box.
Prague is very card-friendly. But a few traps catch tourists every single day.
Old Town looks great on the map. It's expensive, noisy, and not where the real Prague is. Here's where we'd actually stay.
Start early to beat the massive tour groups.
